In order to make any application as smooth as possible it is important to know exactly what information you will be expected to provide. The following checklist is to make sure that you meet the information required by any mortgage providerssss. Some mortgage applications may require slightly less information but to facilitate your application we recommend you prepare the following items. Please note that lenders are very strict on these matters – they will not approve a loan without all these items. Failure to provide any part will delay your application.

100 Points of Identification: Photocopies of 100 points of identification is needed for EACH applicant on the mortgage. All identification used must be copied front and back.

You may use only one of the following items (though not compulsory to use one of these):

  • 70 points - Current Australian Passport and/or Birth Certificate

Any combination of the following to make up outstanding points:

  • 40 Points - Current Australian Drivers Licence
  • 25 Points - Current Medicare Card, bank key card or credit card (no more than one per institution)

Important Notes on Identification:

  • Please check that the names on all ID are identical. Inclusion / exclusion of middle names is not an issue but variations on first name and especially surname are.
  • Ideal combination is Passport and drivers license for 110 points in total.

Supporting Documents: Photocopies or print-outs of the following are required:

  • Front page of contract if purchasing.
  • Copy of most recent paid rates notice for all properties being used as security.
  • Last 6 months mortgage statements for all mortgages being refinanced.
  • Last 6 months mortgage statements for any other loans whether being refinanced or not.
  • For employees - Last 2 years ATO Assessment notice or Group Certificates
  • For employees - 2 most recent pay slips, recent letter of appointment with salary details, or letter from human resources stating your current salary arrangement
  • For Self-Employed - last 2 years personal tax returns & ATO assessment notices
  • Statements for last 6 months for all bank accounts or investments, esp Credit Cards.
  • Copy of signed Lease Agreement or rental statement for existing investment properties for last 6 months.
